The city is also hub for international and domestic flights and the major stopover of the Trans Mongolian Railway between Beijing and Moscow. Around Ulaanbaatar there are beautiful national parks such as Terelj National Park, Khustai National Park and the famous Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex all within 1-1.5 hour drive.

Day 1. Ulaanbaatar
Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner at a fine restaurant. Overnight at hotel. Half and full day tours are available on request.
Day 2. Ulaanbaatar Sights
After a refreshing first night, get ready to explore Ulaanbaatar City. Visit Gandan monastery, the largest Buddhist Monastery in Mongolia that houses well over 500 monks. The full name of Gandan is Gandantegchilen, translates as ‘The great place of complete joy’. Visit National History Museum and Sukhbaatar Square which would cover the spot where Mongolia’s independence was proclaimed in 1921. Have lunch in a Mongolian buffet restaurant where you can create your own stir fry bowls and barbeques. In the afternoon, explore Bogd King Palace museum, also known as the Winter Palace. This large complex of seven halls and a two-storey Russian style house was the winter home of Mongolia`s last king and the third line in the Tibetan Buddhist hierarchy after the Dalai Lama and Panchen Lama. Afterwards, proceed to the Zaisan Memorial Hills to have a panoramic view of the city. If time permits, you can go for shopping for Mongolian cashmere in the Factory outlet store. Have dinner in an American Grill House and enjoy your evening. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 3. Ulaanbaatar City Sights
This day, the exploration of Ulaanbaatar City would continue with The Zanabazar museum of Fine Art, named after the pre-eminent religious leader and artist of the 17th century.Housing some of his finest works, as well as an excellent collection of paintings, carvings and sculptures it is the premiere art museum in the city. Afterwards, a visit to The Intellectual Museum would allow you to see hundreds of Mongolian traditional games and puzzles. Some of the puzzles would test your IQ level that the designers had offered up to 10.000 USD for the person who managed to solve it.You can certainly test your skill and luck.
After having lunch in one of the finest Mongolian restaurant with a very traditional decoration, a visit to the Paleontological museum that is interestingly housed in one of the newest mall would provide you the rich Paleontological findings found from Mongolia. The museum have over 80 exhibits that ranges in size. Afterwards, you would have further time to explore the mall. For evening supper, discuss with your guide whether you would want to go for a Russian or and Indian cuisine. Spend the night at the hotel.
Day 4. Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex / Terelj National Park 200 km
After an early breakfast, it is a day to travel out of the city for the beautiful landscapes and some adventure. Your first visit will be the famous Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex for an impressive sight. The massive and shiny statue is the largest equestrian and Chinggis Khaan in the world.
Afterwards, travel to Terelj National Park which is renowned for its lovely natural scenery of stunning rock formations, larch forests, sweeping grass lands and swiftly flowing streams. Visit the Turtle Rock and Arbayala Temple for its stunning view of the whole park. Visiting a nomadic family would introduce you to their lifestyle and the hospitality. Having a horseback ride with the herdsman is a must. After returning to the city,have dinner in the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 5. Mongol Nomadic Show / Khustai National Park 240 km
Travel to the west side of Ulaanbaatar City for an hour for the Mongol Nomadic Show. In this performance, other than enjoying the authentic features of Mongolian nomadic lifestyle, you can participate by help setting up a ger and riding a yak cart.
After the show, a further drive would lead you to the Khustai National Park, which is famous for the preservation of its Przewalski or wild horses that had been reintroduced back into the wild. The National Park is famous not only for its wild horses but other mammals, floras and faunas. Get introduced to the National Park and proceed deep inside the park to search for the prized wild horses.Return to the city and have dinner at the international buffet restaurant and transfer to the hotel.
Day 6. Ulaanbaatar
Have a leisure day, as by now you would know the city well enough to travel on your own. Meet your guide in the late afternoon and enjoy a colorful Mongolian Folklore concert in the evening. After the concert, have a farewell dinner. Stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 7. Departure
After breakfast check out of the hotel and transfer to the Railway station or Airport for your international departure.
