Just east of this spring lies Deluun Boldog, the revered hill where locals believe Chinggis Khaan was born. Atop the hill stands a stone monument erected in 1990 to commemorate the 750th anniversary of The Secret History of the Mongols, a 13th-century chronicle of the empire.
