Optional cancellation insurance:
Protect your booking and your payments with the Travel On Agency cancellation insurance, available on most standard tour packages. The cancellation insurance allows you to cancel the whole package before your arrival without ever losing your money. This safeguards you against financial losses that could otherwise occur if you have to cancel your tour.
You can purchase this insurance at the time of booking or receive it free of charge when you make a 20% deposit.
With the cancellation insurance you get to:
- Rebook your tour, on one occasion, without any change fees.
- Cancel for any reason and receive a partial refund and travel credit as follows:
- With more than 72 hours' notice before your scheduled tour arrival date, your deposit will be held as a travel credit¹ and the remaining will be refunded² to you.
- With less than 72 hours’ notice before your scheduled tour arrival date, 50% will be held as travel credit¹ with the remaining 50% refunded to you.
- Cancel your tour and receive a full refund in case of unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances, which make it impossible to travel safely to your destination. This may cover, for example, warfare, significant risk to human health, and natural disaster. We only provide full refunds in accordance with the EU Package Travel Directive.
In addition to our standard terms for all bookings the following terms apply as part of the Book With Confidence plan:
- The cancellation insurance can be purchased only for selected standard tour packages from our website.
- The cancellation insurance covers your whole tour package. It does not cover individual services, hotels or rental cars that are cancelled by you shortly before arrival or during your trip. The terms for those types of cancellations are dependent on the agreement with the service provider and some costs can occur, depending on the cancellation notice. However, if the service provider is the one to cancel, for example due to weather, you will receive a full refund for this service.
- Most standard tour packages include joint cost for travel groups (such as private transfers, rental car, etc.). In instances where one or more people from a travel group need to cancel, we will refund individual costs when possible. We are unable to refund the per person price originally quoted.
- The cancellation insurance does not replace travel insurance. Travel insurance provides another level of protection for you while you travel, and may cover costs due to delays or flight cancellations, lost luggage, healthcare, etc. We highly recommend that all customers purchase personal travel insurance before their trip.
- Not valid for any tours in Lapland or Greenland, and also not valid for any tours with 50% minimum deposit.
- Packages must be secured with a 20% deposit. You may choose to pay 10% at the time of booking and the remaining 10% balance 90 days before the arrival date.
- If you decide to pay a 20% deposit at the time of booking, you will receive the cancellation insurance free of charge.
- The total cost of the travel package is due 30 days before arrival.
- Any new offer cannot be applied on top of tour packages already on special offer and cannot be combined with other discounts.
- Not commissionable for third-party travel agents.

ITINERARY
Before starting the journey, we make sure essential supplies are packed and all necessary preparations are done. We travel by a 4×4 vehicle from Ulaanbaatar to the northern part of Elsen Tasarkhai. It is located in the southern part of the Khangai Mountains, we pass through Lun, Bayannuur, and Dashinchilen. We stop to rest and spend the night in a serene spot in Elsen Tasarkhai. On the first day, we will cover a total of 38 km. During the first day of the expedition, we will take a couple of brakes to relax and grab food. The expedition culminates in the vast and scenic landscape of the northern part of Elsen Tasarkhai. (We can arrange for a Camel Trek with advanced notice and an extra fee)
We begin our day 2 with a delicious English Breakfast provided by our Chef. We begin our journey, driving 80 km to our first destination of the day, Erdene Zuu Monastery. Erdene Zuu Monastery is one of our historic sites along the route of the ancient capital, Karakorum. Here we will enjoy a wholesome meal. After filling our souls and bellies with a serene atmosphere and a wholesome meal, we continue our journey for another 130 km to Tamir River. On the way to our final destination, Tamir River, we will encounter a nomadic family with a traditional Mongolian ger, providing an opportunity to learn about the nomadic lifestyle of Mongolia. The expedition concludes at the Tamir River, where the historical traces of Erdniin Tuukh and the natural beauty of the area will be explored. (We can arrange for you to experience Horse Riding in a traditional Mongolian way with advanced notice and an extra fee)
We start Day 3 at the source of the Tamir River near Unadag, trekking 30 km through the beautiful landscape along the Tamir River, leading to Taikhar Chuluu.
On this day, a 30 km segment is covered by a vehicle, followed by a 45 km trek along a scenic route adorned with ongon stones. The total length of this day’s journey is 75 km. The day concludes with exploring the beauty of Khurmen River in the conservation area.
This day’s adventure involves kayaking along the Khurmen River, covering an approximate distance of 40 km. The journey follows the picturesque Chuluut River canyon, providing a unique perspective of the surrounding nature.
Exploring the Chuluut River’s conservation area, a captivating 40 km trek awaits. The journey takes you through the enchanting landscapes surrounding Chuluut River, and its unique formation.
This day’s journey takes you on a 35 km kayak adventure through the Suman Chuluut’s canyon, a part of the conservation area. Discover the natural wonders and beauty of this unique landscape.
We travel 250 km by car to the confluence of the 2 rivers, and from there 30 km by bike or kayak (optional) through the steppes of the Orkhon Valley National Park.
Our 9-day and 8-night trip concludes when we arrive in Ulaanbaatar after passing through Ogii Lake and traveling 370 km along the Dashinchilen road.
