ITINERARY

You will meet our welcoming travel group in the arrival hall of Chinggis Khaan
International Airport and take you to the Ulaanbaatar city. Once we arrive in the city,
check in the hotel starting from 2:00 pm and have a free time until dinner. Have a
welcome lunch or dinner depending on arrival time. Overnight in the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel and check out your hotel. Begin your guided exploration of Mongolia’s vibrant capital. Start at Sukhbaatar Square, the nation’s symbolic center where history, politics, and daily life converge. Continue to the National History Museum, showcasing Mongolia’s fascinating past from prehistoric times and the era of Chinggis Khan to modern developments. Enjoy lunch at a traditional Mongolian restaurant before visiting the Winter Palace of Bogd Khan, the lavish residence of Mongolia’s last theocratic ruler, filled with precious artifacts and cultural treasures. Conclude the day transferring to train station to take overnight train to Erdenet City.

Upon arrival in Erdenet City, your driver will be waitingto transfer you in a 4×4 jeep. After enjoying a morningcoffee at a local café, head to Uran Togoo (Uran Uul), anextinct volcano rising to 1,686 meters above sea levelin Bulgan Province. Known for its striking crater ridge,which resembles a natural “bowl” (Togoo in Mongolian), the area attracts nature lovers from around the world. Spend the day trekking and taking in the breathtaking
volcanic landscapes, surrounded by pristine nature. In the evening, relax and stay overnight at a ger camp, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Today involves the longest drive of the trip as we head to Moron, the provincial capital of Khuvsgul. Situated in a wide valley along the banks of the same-named river, Moron is a well-planned town with numerous local stores, hotels, and restaurants. You may optionally visit a local Buddhist temple and the market, where locally produced jams, fish, and dairy products can be purchased. After driving another 130 kilometers, arrive at Lake Khuvsgul, where we will stay for two nights. Known as the “dark blue jewel,” the lake is surrounded by mountains, dense pine forests, and grazing horses and yaks. At 1,645 meters above sea level, it is Mongolia’s second-largest and deepest freshwater lake and a major tributary to Lake Baikal. During your stay, enjoy excursions including visiting a reindeer breeding family, exploring the forest, and horseback riding. In the evening, gather around a bonfire on the lake’s shore. Optional activities include boating and kayaking on the pristine waters of the lake.

After a rejuvenating two days at Khuvsgul Lake, drive to Harganat River Lodge, located on a sandbank overlooking the scenic Delger Murun River valley. This tranquil setting offers a peaceful escape into pristine nature, away from the bustle of daily life. Visit Uushgyn Uvur, an ancient deer stone site, and continue to the Holy Mountains for up to two hours, enjoying panoramic views of Moron town up to 50 kilometers away. Alternatively, take a leisurely walk along the Delger Murun River and relax under the sun. On-site activities include bike rentals, fly fishing, and archery, allowing you to tailor your day to your interests while soaking in the natural beauty of Northern Mongolia.

Drive north to Ulziit Khishig Ger Camp, where you will stop for lunch upon arrival. Spend
the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings of the camp. Overnight
at the ger allows you to rest and take in the serene beauty of Northern Mongolia.

After breakfast, set off to the picturesque Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur (Great White Lake), a
pristine freshwater lake and a highlight of Arkhangai Province. The surrounding Khorgo-
Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park, covering 73,000 hectares, protects the lake, diverse
birdlife, and mountains shaped by extinct volcanic craters. The northeastern side of the
lake offers excellent trekking opportunities, including a walk to Khorgo Volcano, which
rises approximately 900 meters above the lake. Spend the night at a ger campsite,
surrounded by the serene beauty of the park.

After breakfast, drive through the scenic landscapes of Central Mongolia toward the
Orkhon Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its historical and cultural
significance. Stop for lunch in Arkhangai Province and enjoy views of Bulgan Mountain

along the way. Continue to Karakorum, the 13th-century capital of the Mongol Empire,
where you can explore its ancient sites, including the Erdene Zuu Monastery. Overnight
stay at a ger camp nearby, surrounded by the tranquil valley.

Today’s journey begins in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Orkhon Valley, a region
steeped in historical significance and nomadic tradition. From here, the route winds
southward through remote grasslands and rugged terrain, offering dramatic views of
Mongolia’s untamed interior. By late afternoon, we arrive at the tranquil ruins of Ongi
Monastery, once one of Mongolia’s largest Buddhist monastic complexes. Set peacefully
along the banks of the Ongi River, the site now stands as a place of quiet reflection,
surrounded by wide open skies and desert hills.

Today, we travel deeper into the legendary Gobi Desert, leaving behind the peaceful
ruins of Ongi Monastery and heading toward one of Mongolia’s most iconic natural
landmarks—Bayanzag, also known as the Flaming Cliffs.
Famed for their striking red sandstone formations and renowned as a site of
groundbreaking dinosaur fossil discoveries, Bayanzag offers both scientific fascination
and dramatic desert beauty. Walk along the cliffs at sunset, when the rocks seem to
glow with fiery hues—an unforgettable highlight of the Gobi.

After breakfast, we continue our Gobi Desert adventure with a drive to the majestic
Khongoryn Els, also known as the “Singing Sand Dunes.” These vast dunes, stretching
up to 180 km long and 20 km wide, are among the largest and most spectacular in
Mongolia. As we approach, the landscape transforms into a breathtaking expanse of
towering golden sand dunes, framed by rugged mountains and green oases. Depending
on conditions, you may have the opportunity to climb the dunes for panoramic views or
even hear the famous “singing” sound created when the sand shifts. In the afternoon,
experience a camel ride with a local herding family, offering a glimpse into the traditional
nomadic lifestyle of the Gobi. Stay overnight at a ger camp.

After breakfast, we depart from the majestic Khongoryn Els Sand Dunes and journey toward Yol Valley, nestled in the Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park. The drive takes us through varied desert landscapes, from vast steppe to rugged mountains. Upon arrival, enjoy a walk through the deep, shaded gorge, where ice fields can be found even during the summer months. The area is known for its unique microclimate, striking rock formations, and the presence of lammergeiers and other native wildlife. Stay overnight at a ger camp.

Today, we head to Tsagaan Suvraga, also known as the White Stupa, a remarkable natural formation in the heart of the Gobi Desert. This stunning landscape is characterized by towering, wind-carved cliffs that reveal vibrant layers of sediment in shades of white, pink, and orange. At sunset, the cliffs take on an ethereal glow, resembling the ruins of ancient temples and structures. Explore this striking formation and enjoy its tranquil beauty before heading to a nearby ger camp for an overnight stay.

Begin the day at the National Stadium in Ulaanbaatar, where the vibrant ceremony unfolds with a colorful parade of athletes, soldiers, musicians, and performers in traditional dress. Witness the ceremonial procession of the Nine White Banners, a sacred symbol of Mongolian statehood.
