Go Mongolia – Ger Exhibition

The Go Mongolia – Ger Exhibition is a magnificent event hosted in Sukhbataar Square, the heart of Ulaanbaatar city, Mongolia, from May 04 to May 12, 2024, presenting the most traditional and convenient Mongolian housing, the Ger. Gers were once nomadic movable tents built of wooden poles covered in felted wool sheets. Gers’ design, construction, and materials represent the nomadic lifestyle that has been an intrinsic part of Mongolian cultural history for centuries.

The Go Mongolia – Ger Exhibition seeks to honor and preserve the distinctive craftsmanship and artistry associated with Gers. Throughout the exhibition, several Mongolian provinces display their best Gers, each with its distinct design and décor, allowing visitors to learn about the uniqueness and beauty of Mongolian Gers. Furthermore, the exhibition focuses on the change of Gers in urban settings, specifically in Ulaanbaatar’s ger districts. These newest ger districts formed in reaction to the city’s growing urbanization and population growth. As Mongolian nomads shift to city life, they bring with them their ger-living skills and knowledge, which help them adjust to the new urban lifestyle.

The exhibition focuses not only on promoting Gers and their decorations, but also on allowing visitors to taste and enjoy Mongolian dairy products such as Mongolian cheese curd, butter, and honey. You can also enjoy the elegance of the National Costume, known as Deel, which emphasizes the joyful and ceremonial hues in the ambiance. The Mongolian tourist department is promoting Go Mongolia so that people all over the world can enjoy staying in Mongolian Gers under thousands of stars and eating exquisite Mongolian food.
